Up to Not Good?
Jordy did not answer her. What Gloria said was like a blow to his head.
What am I doing? He came back to his sense.
His brow was tightly knit. His face looked awkward.
God knew how bad and irritable he was.
Jordy closed his eyes, sat back in his chair and said nothing.
Gloria heaved a sigh of relief.
She wasn’t even sure what would have happened if he did something back there in that state.
Her phone buzzed at the moment. Gloria put it through directly.
But before she could say something, a loud voice came through.
“Gloria! How are you feeling now? Yesterday, I was grounded by my old man and I just get released a
while ago. I heard that you fell into the water? Damn it! What happened!”
Jordy frowned slightly, but because it was a woman’s voice and because the call did ease the tension
in the car, he did not say anything.
Gloria’s eyes dimmed as she asked, “What did your father do to you?”
“Just what he usually did. He is my father after all. He won’t kill me. So, tell me did you get hurt or get
cold because of the falling?”
Nydia didn’t want to go into details about her family issues at the moment, nor did Gloria think it was
the right time to ask. She replied breezily, “I’m fine. Everything’s okay.”
Nydia breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s good… But I saw that you were actually carried out by Mr.
Collins. What’s going on between you two now?” she pursued.
Jordy opened his dark eyes abruptly, waiting to hear how Gloria would respond to Nydia.
Gloria looked calm and answered, “Nothing’s going on.”
“I thought you guys got divorced! I remember that you hated him but why are suddenly you guys so
close to each other again?”
The temperature in the car dropped abruptly!
Even Harold, who was driving the car, was also jaw-dropped.
Gloria stole a glance at Jordy, only to see that he was at his tipping point of exploding.
She looked away quickly and made an excuse by saying, “I have an emergency to deal with. Talk to
you later.”
Nydia did not buy it. She cut in, “Don’t you dare hang up on me! Are you still my best friend or not?”
Gloria was a bit speechless.
She dared not to hang up on Nydia, who was now in a fit of pique.
She turned the volume down secretly, but Nydia yelled even louder!
“Gloria! What the hell is wrong with you today?! Why do you stick with Jordy Collins? He would only
ruin your reputation. Moreover, I am worried that someday Jordy Collins’s fans would set you up again!”
“I know. I would be more careful next time.”
As Gloria spoke, she felt vividly a burning gaze from Jordy.
“When are you coming back?”
“After we finish the business trip.”
“Well… take care of yourself, then. I think he’s up to no good by approaching you, and…”
Gloria’s eyelids twitched. For the moment, she feel Jordy was gonna eat her alive, she took a breath
and interrupted Nydia by saying, “Nydia, I’m out with Mr. Collins right now. I’ll call you later.”
And before Nydia could say anything else, Gloria snapped off the call and put the phone back into her
purse as if nothing had happened.
Jordy glances at her and asked word by word, “I am up to no good?”
