Gloria’s Revenge
Till she sat down at the desk, she hadn’t calmed down.
The earlier scene kept flashing across her mind.
She didn’t understand why that man had lost his mind.
Gloria closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and did her best to contain her emotions.
She tried to forget the unpleasant experience but found it hard to swallow her pride.
She took another deep breath and pressed her eyebrows.
It was not the first time Jordy had done such a thing to her. She couldn’t take it anymore.
She took out her phone and called Jordy.
Surprised to receive the call, he answered it with a sullen face.
Before he could say anything, Gloria stated, “I’m going to see Karen tonight.”
His face clouded over. “What for?”
She gave a cold laugh. “Weren’t you the one who told me to visit her often?”
His brows were locked in a frown. “Let’s go together after work.”
She hung up the phone without another word.
She knew that Jordy would come along. He was afraid that she would tell on him.
That was what she wanted.
Gloria was distracted and inefficient all morning.
Of course, it was comparative.
In others’ eyes, she was still ten times more productive than them.
In the office, the escapade was discussed again.
That secretary had told the story to everyone in the same office, and someone with a loose tongue
spread it.
In the end, almost all the staff members heard about it.
In the afternoon, many people found it hard to focus. They were dying to study and gossip about the
entanglement between Gloria and Jordy.
Finally, the shift was over.
Jordy was worried that Gloria would go without him.
So, he came to her office.
Gloria opened the door and saw the lofty man standing there.
The look in her eyes gave away her mixed feelings. With her bag in her hand, she silently went outside.
She was eager to teach him a lesson, but the sight of him reminded her of what had happened in his
office.
As she walked away, Jordy followed without saying anything.
Not all the staff members had left. They were surprised to see Gloria and Jordy walking off one after
another. Someone even sneaked a shot of them and shared the picture with her friends.
Then it was the third round of debate. It was limited to internal discussions. No one dared to post it on
Twitter.
On the way, neither of them talked. Jordy served as the driver.
When they arrived at the old house, she got off without a look at Jordy.
Dale looked at the visitor with a gentle smile and said, “Welcome, Miss White.”
Gloria nodded also with a smile. “Good evening, Dale.”
The butler stepped aside and said with a respectful look, “Come on in.”
She smiled and went in without further ado.
Karen had learned about Gloria’s visit. In high spirits, she waved at Gloria from the sofa.
“Girl, come over here.”
