The Trial Finally Began
“I want her to find me two trustworthy people and let them spy on Angela.”
Kristina looked startled. “Did she do anything to you again?”
Gloria only smiled and didn’t answer.
Kristina hated to be inquisitive and immediately said, “OK, I’ll call her and ask her to find you some
trustworthy people and spy on Angela.”
“Maybe we can’t find out anything, but it’s better than doing nothing. Thank you, Kristina.”
“You don’t have to say thanks. You help me too.”
Gloria chuckled, “Alright.”
“You’re not safe alone. Be careful.”
“I will. It’s getting late. Kristina, have an early night.”
“Good night.”
They hung up.
Gloria didn’t tell anyone about Angela’s phone call with that person. It was because Gloria sensed the
danger. She didn’t want to put anyone at risk. She didn’t ask her friends to dig into it, so Angela would
not be alert.
The police were very efficient. With the help of the
Collins Group, they took those thugs down quickly!
As for who was behind them…
The person behind the curtain might be powerful, but so what?
They deserved this. They were totally defiant. It served them bloody well right.
Afterward, it was as if peace had returned.
Gloria promised to act as Kristina’s counsel. It was about time.
It was said that Kristina’s ex-husband got an exceptional lawyer.
Gloria didn’t care. She had a realistic chance of winning the case, so she didn’t care how tough her
opponent was.
Gloria froze for a moment as she sat down and saw the person sitting across from her.
The opposing counsel grinned wickedly at Gloria, as if to say, “Miss White, what a coincidence!”
He should be very clear that he doesn’t stand a chance in there, but why does he take this case? Is it
because he knows I am Kristina’s counsel?
Gloria frowned slightly and said nothing.
Kristina looked surprised and laughed, “George took his case.”
Gloria smiled faintly and remained silent.
Kristina, who was sitting next to Gloria, said smilingly, “I remember the last time George lost to you.”
“It was because the Collins Group didn’t have a leg to stand on when they made a statement,” said
Gloria calmly.
Kristina smiled, “Maybe George wants to challenge you again, to make a comeback, or to sharpen
essential skills every lawyer needs.”
With Gloria there, Kristina felt relaxed and was in a good mood to laugh and talk.
But if Gloria hadn’t been her counsel today, Kristina would have been devastated and terrified in the
face of George.
After all, it was well known that George was a good lawyer.
But with Norma here, Kristina did not find a court hearing scary.
Gloria glanced at George. He was talking to Kristina’s ex-husband, who was smiling smarmily.
Gloria speculated that it was George who reached out to Kristina’s ex-husband.
Kristina’s ex-husband was quite mediocre. He did not dare to ask George for help.
And George looked down upon him. It was about time that the trial began.
