A Hard-Won Date
She itched to punch her grandson.
She had to wait for Jordy to continue. She had heard it but wanted to confirm it with him.
The two kids had been torturing each other. The happy days were coming.
She urged him, “What is it? Are you keeping certain things from me? But I’m delighted to hear this. You
guys are young and free to do whatever you like.”
She was thrilled but somewhat ill at ease. Something seemed to be off, or maybe she had worried too
much about them.
Following a glance at her, Jordy said, “There is something else.”
Karen frowned. “I don’t care about your other business. Now I only want to know if you guys were
dating.”
In her view, a date proceeded after a couple established their relationship.
Gloria’s eyes flickered. She pursed her lips.
Jordy frowned and hummed, “Yeah.”
Karen’s eyes lit up.
Jordy admitted it. What else could she expect? It showed they were really dating.
Overjoyed, she turned to look at Gloria who kept her head low. Karen took it for her shyness.
Wonderful
They’re finally back together!
Her joy was beyond words.
“Good, you guys are back together. Now you can tell me about your business.”
She didn’t pursue the matter as she saw through their embarrassment. She was content to learn about
their current situation.
Jordy looked at his grandma and said, “Carlos told me that you should have another shot.”
The smile on her face froze. “Another shot?”
An injection was the last thing she wanted.
Her happy mood was affected by the news.
Jordy said, “You’re short of various vitamins. If you refuse now, you’ll have to receive more injections in
the future.”
Karen was speechless.
Gloria said with a smile, “To suffer less, I think you should agree.”
Karen understood the situation. The couple said it was still early. Turned out it was just an excuse.
Their real intention was to persuade her to take the shot.
Not stupid, she knew that Jordy could have the film played at any moment.
Then again, she didn’t want to drag them down. “Okay, I’ll take the shot. I don’t need you guys to keep
me company. Just go ahead with your plan. Carlos will be here soon, right? I’ll wait for him.”
Her tone was easy. Not lying to them, she just didn’t want to interrupt their hard–won date.
