You and Jonathan
Gloria watched him, "What..." She wanted to ask him why he came here. But words failed her.
She knew very well he was wooing her. He was trying all means to pursue her. No need to ask since
she already knew the answer. Jonathan curled his lips, "I'm worried you'll get tired from looking after
him, so I'm here to keep you company."
"No, thanks!" Gloria refused him without a second thought. Bryson could not stand being provoked and
she was afraid that Jonathan's presence would make Bryson feel worse.
Gloria stared at Jonathan and spoke, "I'll stay in the hospital for days to come, and I hope you can keep
a distance from me in this period."
Jonathan narrowed his eyes, "You care a lot about him?"
"He's my family." Gloria emphasized these words to let Jonathan understand how important Bryson
was to her. Jonathan let out a chuckle when he heard her words.
"You take him as a family, not a lover?" Gloria frowned and looked at Jonathan with displeasure.
Jonathan was in a noticeably better mood. Then he said, smiling, "I'm here to give you something, and
I won't bother you over the next couple of days. But if you can't take good care of yourself, I won't show
mercy for the man you care about. After all..."
With that, he leaned forward and Gloria's face changed. Before she could step back, Jonathan's crisp
and slow voice came to her ears.
"You're the only person I care about." Gloria's eyelashes quivered as she took a step back. Watching
the file bag that Jonathan shoved into her hand, she held it and said with a peaceful expression, "I see.
Mr. Brown, please leave."
Jonathan glanced thoughtfully at the file bag in her hand and smiled, "OK"
Without thinking much, Gloria shot a glance at Jonathan, didn't say another word, and turned around
to walk inside. She got into the elevator, wondering what documents he handed to her.
After all, the project hadn't launched yet. Had he perfected it? The file bag was quite heavy and thick.
With this thought, Gloria made her way back to the room where they had meals before. Jennifer and
Nydia said nothing when seeing Gloria enter the room. Nydia, who was talkative in normal times, was
in no mood to chatter and slumped in the seat despondingly.
They took heed of the file bag in Gloria's hand but neither of them asked about it. Gloria opened the
file bag slowly and got startled to find that inside were no documents. Inside was an exquisite envelope
that girls fancied. But she was a divorced woman, and she had lost romantic feelings for a long time.
Jonathan knew it well. Why give her such stuff? Gloria lost interest in opening the envelope. She
closed the file bag, sat in the chair, and took out the phone. Despite her lack of interest, Nydia felt a
really bad vibe and made a conversation. She watched Gloria and asked, "Gloria, what were you
looking at? It looked like an envelope."
Gloria's eyes flickered, "No idea."
Evidently, she didn't want to talk about it. Jennifer looked up at Gloria with a bitter smile on her lips, "Mr.
Brown is really nice to you."
Gloria stared up at Jennifer and a hint of confusion flashed across her eyes. Nydia said quietly, "We
stood by the window for a while just now and happened to see you and Jonathan standing together."
