She Was Puzzled
Gloria wanted to leave as soon as she saw him, and she didn’t want to stay in the same room with him
at all.
If it weren’t for grandma’s sake, Gloria wouldn’t have had dinner with him.
And they wouldn’t have met in the old mansion.
Jordy frowned and looked up at Karen again, “Grandma, I really need your help. After we got
remarried, I will treat her as my real wife, my only woman. I’ll be good to her and I’ll be a qualified
husband.”
He was just saying it.
All he would do was to give Gloria what other women had. He wouldn’t love her.
But he seemed to forget that Gloria was rich and could afford what she wanted.
If it weren’t for love, why would she be with a man? She was rich, excellent and had connections. She
could solve the problems she met, couldn’t she? She wouldn’t do anything illegal after all.
Moreover, she didn’t need a relationship anymore.
Karen frowned and hesitated for a moment before she said softly, “I won’t help you now. I need to see
how you behave before I decide what to do that.”
Jordy was speechless.
Since Karen had said this after deep thought, Jordy knew that it was useless to say anything else, so
he had to nod, “OK, if there is a chance, we two could take you out for a walk.”
“You two?”
Expectations seemed to rise in Karen’s heart, “Are you serious?”
“Of course …” Before he finished speaking, Karen suddenly reacted and said angrily, “You bastard! You
are tricking me again! Are you going to force Gloria to agree after I say okay? Perish the thought!”
Jordy was speechless.
He sighed helplessly, “Then you’ll see how I will behave. Consider it carefully. You will believe me in the
end. I’ve got some things to deal with. I’m leaving.”
Karen curled her lip, “Good!”
Jordy left immediately after telling her what he wanted. Why didn’t he stay to keep her company for a
while? What an ungrateful bastard!
Jordy looked at her sullen look and said helplessly,
“Dad is on the way here. He will arrive in about ten minutes. I need to take over the things he’s dealing
with. I’m going to meet him now.”
Karen shook her hand, “Go.”
Jordy nodded and left without saying anything else.
Karen looked at her grandson’s receiving figure, and her feelings were getting complicated. Gloria and
Jordy…
These two children…
She couldn’t help sighing. She gave a lot of thought to this matter and didn’t even hear Newell come
back.
“Mom?”
After Newell called her three times, Karen’s attention was finally drawn back. When she saw Newell
standing in front of her, she was startled, “You scared me.”
Newell was puzzled. He sat beside her, wondering, “What were you thinking? You were so absorbed. I
called you three times.”
“Ah? You did?” Karen was a little surprised, “I didn’t hear.”
“What were you thinking?”
“Jordy was here just now and he said something to me. I still couldn’t believe it. I just felt that
something was wrong…” Karen frowned, as if she were puzzled.
Newell was amused, “What did he say?”
What did Jordy do? His mother was actually so dazed.
Karen frowned slightly, as if she didn’t know what to say. She could only say helplessly, “What a crazy
