The Worst Three Years
Gloria took two steps backward in fright. If she kept going, she would retreat into her bedroom. Her
face was as white as a sheet.
“Jordy Collins!” Gloria called out Jordy’s full name in case he did something stupid again.
After the divorce, he hugged me and kissed me. I’m really worried that…
At this moment, Gloria shrank from the thought. Even though she had told herself not to be a narcissist
and reminded herself that Jordy hated her, but… she couldn’t deny what Jordy had done to her during
this time.
If he hated her, why did he kiss her?
Gloria’s face grew paler as she watched Jordy coming closer. The next moment, she dashed into the
bedroom, closed the door, and locked it.
Only then did she realize that the key was in the door.
Gloria frowned and pressed her back against the door, her face ashen.
“Jordy Collins, get out of here. You’re not welcome!”
Bastard! How did he get the key or add his fingerprint to my door lock system?
Why does he have a key to my door?
Wait, wait.
Gloria suddenly froze. She had given Karen a key in case Karen wanted to come to her.
Karen gave Jordy the key, didn’t she?
Almost immediately, Gloria dismissed the thought. She believed that Karen would never do such a
thing. Even if Jordy did get the key from Karen, it would only happen without Karen’s knowledge.
Gloria’s frown deepened. She pressed her back against the door harder in case Jordy turned the key
and walked in.
A moment later, Gloria heard a cold voice laced with sarcasm from the door. “I never tried to take you
to bed during our marriage, let alone now.”
Gloria frowned and said nothing. She didn’t know whether to believe him.
For a while, there was no sound. Gloria moved a little and thought Jordy had no intention of coming in.
She snatched a set of pajamas out of the wardrobe and slipped into it. For an instant, she seemed to
be lulled into a false sense of security.
After a while, Jordy still had no intention of leaving. After a moment’s hesitation, Gloria said gravely,
“So what are you doing here?”
“Open the door,” said Jordy briefly in a frosty voice.
Gloria then did as he said. She was dressed now and not afraid of anything. She pined Jordy’s sullen
face with her icy gaze. “If you have something to say, finish it and then leave!”
If it weren’t for courtesy, Gloria would curse loudly.
A vein pulsed in Jordy’s brow. The next moment, he said seriously, “I told you to stay away from
Jonathan, but you didn’t listen to me. You got closer to him instead. Do you know the consequences?
Jordy’s voice was frigid, but Gloria could not help laughing. “I am all on my own. I am not threatened by
anyone. What am I afraid of?”
Jordy’s face grew gloomier. Gloria continued with a sneer, “Besides, the worst three years of my life are
over. What could be worse than that?”
