Playing a Game
In such a situation, any other woman would groan and whine.
Gloria, however, thought nothing of it. She didn’t show the slightest reliance on him.
After the treatment was done, she stood up on her own and acted like she was immune to pain.
The doctor looked at her in amazement. “Miss White, you are the toughest lady I’ve ever seen.”
Gloria smiled, “Thank you very much.”
“No problem, it’s my duty. Keep your wound dry in the next few days. The dressings should be changed
every day. Strenuous exercise and spicy food are not advised. Keep a balanced diet.”
She nodded. “Okay.”
They went out of the room. When Jordy came over to pick her up, she turned him down. “I’m fine and
can walk by myself.”
He glanced at her stilettos and carried her in his arms despite her rejection.
Gloria was stunned.
She didn’t struggle though.
Jordy put her into the car, and Harold rode them back to the hotel.
George, who had been in the hotel all day, planned to go out for some air. As soon as the elevator
reached the first floor and opened, he saw Jordy carrying Gloria in his arms.
He was flabbergasted. Before he could get off, Jordy came in with Gloria.
Harold followed behind them.
Somewhat confused, he teased them, “Hey, what kind of game is this?”
It requires them to hold each other?
And Gloria agreed?
This dude cares about his reputation the most, but he is holding Gloria.
George didn’t get it but sensed something wrong when blood was seen on Gloria. In a hurry, he closed
the elevator door and pressed the button to the top floor. No longer in the mood to go out, he asked
with a serious look, “What happened?”
“There was an accident. Keep this from Nydia.” Gloria’s face was serious when she looked at George.
His brows furrowed. “Nydia came this time to see you. There is no way we can keep it from her given
your frequent meetings. What exactly happened? Is it serious?”
Harold briefed him on the incident. George frowned and looked at Gloria. “I thought you were
implicated. Now it looks like they’re after you.”
Gloria gave no response, but her brows were knitted together.
The elevator door opened, and Jordy headed straight to their suite.
Harold followed and opened the door for them. Jordy carried her to her room and placed her on the bed
with great care. His chiseled face was frosty.
Gloria got mixed feelings. She hadn’t expected Jordy to carry her back and look after her.
For Karen’s sake, maybe?
He doesn’t want his grandmother to worry?
She wondered and reminded him, “What happened today may have hit the headlines. Have someone
take care of it. I’m afraid Karen will see it.”!
“Okay,” Jordy responded. “Have a rest. I’ll take care of everything. You’ll stay here in the next few
days.”
“But…” Gloria tried to say something, but he cut her off, “I’m not in the habit of mistreating my
employees.”
With that, he stood up and took her laptop away. His intention was clear. He would not let her work.
Gloria was speechless.
Jordy stopped in the doorway and looked back. “What would you like to eat?”
