Irene sighed resignedly. “You are right. He may lie to you out of self–interest. You will fall for it if you
believe him.”
Gloria opened her mouth. “Let it be. I’ll take time to investigate it.”
She had never seen her mother, so she was obsessive on knowing about her mother. But now she had
other things to do. She gotta take care of them at the same time.
Irene nodded. “OK. It’s late. You should go back and have a good rest.”
Then Gloria said goodbye to Irene, stood up and left.
After she went back home, she stared fixedly at the copies of those old pictures.
The next day.
At this point, Rachel was having a meal with her good friend, Lucia Taylor, in a private room.
Rachel seemed distracted and ate little with a fork in her hand. Seeing that, Lucia asked in confusion,
“What happened to you?”
Rachel came back to herself and blinked her eyes. “Nothing.”
Lucia put down her fork and stared at Rachel. “Nothing? Then why don’t you eat something? Why do
you look so uneasy?”
Lucia wore red clothes which made her eye–catching.
But she only looked lovely after she put on some makeup, so she was envious of Rachel’s naturally
beautiful face.
Rachel blinked. She had kept this thing to herself all the time. Now, she indeed needed someone to
give her an idea, so she said softly, “Yesterday, I met Angela.”
Lucia instantly looked at her with a slight surprised look. “Why did you meet that woman?”
Angela was notorious now.
Lucia couldn’t figure out why they met.
“She asked me out,” Rachel said as she picked up the glass and took a sip of the juice.
“Well, why did she ask you out? She is a mad woman now. Did she ask you to do something for her? I
must say, don’t say yes to her request!”
Rachel’s face changed slightly, “Shouldn’t I?”
But the evidence….
Rachel was an excellent woman who could take care of everything without discussing with others. She
had opinions of her own and could get a handle on everything.
But…
She would become indecisive when it came to Jordy. She couldn’t come up with an idea and now even
had to ask for her bestie’s opinion.
In fact…
Lucia was not very intelligent, but now….
She could only trust Lucia.
After a while, she said softly, “It’s about Gloria and Jordy.”
Hearing that, Lucia paused for a moment and asked hurriedly, “What did Angela say?”
“She gave me some evidence to prove Gloria’s motives to harm Jordy. I have verified that it’s accurate
evidence.”
Lucia was a little bit shocked. “How dared Gloria go against Jordy? Who gave her the gall?”
“Perhaps she is emboldened by Jordy. She thinks Jordy loves her, so she dares do so many bad
things.”
Lucia’s eyelashes quivered. It seemed that Rachel had believed Angela’s words. It made sense. After
all, Rachel had verified the accuracy of Angela’s evidence.
But the reality may be far more complicated than Rachel thought.
