A Lack of Sincerity
Nydia frowned and looked at Gloria. She could no longer hold back. “Who attacked you? Did they hurt
the wrong person? Or someone is targeting you?”
“I’m not sure,” Gloria smiled. “Go back to sleep. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”
She didn’t tell Nydia the truth. That would make her friend worry.
Nydia let out a sigh. “Well then, have a good rest. If you need anything, be sure to call me any time. I
don’t see a reliable man in Jordy.”
Gloria chuckled, “I will.”
Nydia then left despite her reluctance.
When she got back, George was seen sitting on the sofa. His face was sullen. She frowned and
question him, “Why didn’t you tell me about Glori injury?”
George glanced at her and replied, “She forbad me to tell you.”
“And you listened to her? She needs care! How did Jordy take care of things? A mole may sneak in if
you find someone else to look after her.”
George frowned. “She’s a grown-up. Does she need your care? Besides, Jordy is such a loser who
doesn’t have any trusted subordinates? You’re worried about nothing.”
“She’s my best friend. I value our friendship more than my life.”
George’s face fell in an instant. He was not happy to hear that.
“Since she’s more important than your life, why do you come back? Go and take care of her!”
Nydia was stunned.
What is wrong with this jackass?
Instead of wasting her breath, she ignored him and went to her bedroom.
George was annoyed by the woman.
It was getting dark. The netizens only talked about Gloria and Jordy’s trip together and how intimate
they were.
Angela had browsed Twitter all day. This kind of stuff annoyed her so much that she scowled. “What
the hell is that woman doing? It’s so late. She still hasn’t finished the job?”
Martha frowned and suggested, “Why don’t you give her a call? Since she can elute you, she can’t be
an ordinary person.”
Angela fidgeted. The phone rang before she could dial the number. “It’s her calling.”
She answered the phone at once.
“Hello?”
A pleasant voice came. “Someone has made a move, but Jordy has put the news of Gloria’s injury
down.”
Angela was stupefied.
“Gloria is just injured?”
What the hell?
Their well-thought-out plans had failed. Gloria was unscathed the first time and got a minor injury the
second time? Now they couldn’t make another move, or they might be exposed.
“Yeah.”
“You’re powerful. How come you failed twice?”
“If I could kill her on my own, I wouldn’t have contacted you. From the beginning, I’ve told you. I need
you to work with me. Through the two actions, I just want to show my sincerity.”
Angela didn’t see any sincerity. It just baffled her further. Instead of asking about the details, she said,
“Given your power, you can have her killed? How come you’ll need my help? To me, your actions just
scratched the surface. Your sincerity is not so solid.”
