Bryson froze at this thought.
He suddenly remembered three years ago when they went out together and Jennifer got drunk.
She smirked and pulled at his hand.
She was gibbering with her eyes glued to his face.
Bryson didn’t think much of it at that time, but now he recalled the state of her and how she had been
acting around him all these years…
He found some clues.
For a moment, he didn’t know what to say.
As Jennifer said, one couldn’t decide who he fell in love with.
Bryson adored Gloria, but it seemed unlikely that they could be together. Jennifer knew that and never
brought it up. But today, she did. Did she want to get him to give up?
Bryson dropped his dark eyes and said nothing.
He didn’t know what to say, and he didn’t want to dwell on it either.
Jennifer stared at him and said, “Bryson, give it up.”
Bryson’s heart skipped a beat.
Give it up?
No way!
He loved to spend his time with Gloria, even though… there wasn’t a sweet moment between the two
of them.
She said yes when he asked her to be his girlfriend. At that moment, he could hardly believe his luck.
“Give it up, Bryson. You’re not only hurting Gloria but also yourself.”
Bryson’s face changed as he looked up at Jennifer. “Was it because I was in a car accident that
Gloria…?”
He left his sentence hanging.
Even though he knew the answer, he didn’t want to believe it. He thought Gloria was touched by his
romantic advances.
Jennifer let out a sigh.
“Bryson, you have to spoil your fantasies at this point.”
Bryson’s eyes dimmed. He wished he hadn’t survived the car accident.
How else could there be so much pain?
For a moment, Bryson’s face was contorted with an assortment of emotions. His eyes from which all
the calmness had fled were now filled with sadness, disappointment, and gloom.
Tears welled up rapidly in Jennifer’s eyes. She did not know whether it was because she told him her
true feelings boldly or because she felt sorry for him. Tears were rolling down her cheeks.
Bryson looked slightly flustered. He immediately got to his feet and handed her a box of tissues,
“Don’t cry, Jennifer….”
Jennifer took some tissues, wiped away her tears, and turned her head away from him.
She didn’t expect such gaffes.
She was sobbing uncontrollably, too embarrassed to speak.
With a look of mingled emotions, Bryson spoke again, “Jennifer, don’t cry. I’m sorry to make you feel
bad.”
They were friends, and Jennifer had never done anything out of line before. Bryson didn’t show respect
for her feelings. Instead, he showed his love for Gloria and even pursued her madly in front of
Jennifer…
God knew how painful it was for Bryson to see Jonathan and Jordy run around Gloria these days!
Jennifer must feel even worse to see Bryson hover after Gloria for days and nights.
