Pointless in Saying More
Angela took a breath. Anger was written all over her face. “Why? Why are you keeping things from me?
Do you think I’m ignorant and will reveal it to others or do you think I’m not capable of handling it?
Whichever the case, we’re a family. I’m your only daughter. Why wouldn’t you tell me? I can face the
problem with you.”
“You shouldn’t hide it from me. That’s not fair. You think you’re protecting me, but I don’t think that way.
It’s kind of deception to me.
Her voice got louder, and her eyes were filled with disappointment.
Claude’s face changed. He let out a sigh and asked, “What it takes for you to believe us?”
Angela shook her head and looked at them in an incredulous way. “I’ve said so much, but you still
refuse to be honest with me.”
Martha interposed in a hurry, “Angela, calm down. It’s not about whether we’re keeping things from
you, but what you said is confusing. What’s his aim of telling you that our properties have been sold?”
Martha smelled a rat. The entire thing was suspicious. She believed that someone was trying to sow
discord between them. To that, Angela sneered, “If you continue to keep it from me, the person who
told me about it will not be content. She will tell me more till I learn about everything. Do you want to
see me tortured by that bitch?”
“Who is it? Who told you?”
“Gloria!” Angela had no intention of covering up for that woman.
Upon hearing the name, Claude and Martha both got mixed feelings.
Gloria! It was Gloria who told her.
Gloria is close to the Collins family, and even Jordy no longer treats her like before. It’s reasonable that
she knows the inside out.
The couple lost their cool.
“Why did things turn out this way?” Angela gritted her teeth, “What did you do? All our properties have
been sold, which means that we’re penniless. 19 layers of the Collins Group’s security have been
breached.”
Claude was stunned. And so was his wife.
Angela glared at them and then realized something.
Since she hung up the phone, she had been trying to find an explanation for everything. She didn’t
know why her father had spent such a great amount of money. She had asked around in the office but
found that there wasn’t any project going on as her father had said earlier.
Even if there was a project, all the shareholders would have taken out their money too. If a project was
worth them selling their properties and investing all their money in, it should be something huge. She
hadn’t heard anything about it, which showed the direction was wrong.
When she connected the dots, she sensed that something was off.
After a pause, she looked at her father with wide eyes and said in a panicky voice, “You didn’t hire
someone to steal the business secrets of the Collins Group, did you?”
Martha lost her tongue.
She knew that it was pointless in saying more.
