Nothing to Talk About
Kristina stopped in her tracks and measured the masked woman with scrutinizing eves.
Gloria took off her mask before a stunning face was revealed.
With her eyes fixed on Gloria, Kristina curled her lips. “Miss White? What a small world!”
Gloria put the mask back on and laughed, “To be honest, I‘m here to see you.”
Kristina gazed at her, neither talking nor rushing to leave.
Gloria smiled and suggested, “Why don‘t we talk in the booth?”
Kristina removed her sunglasses. A faint smile was in her pretty eyes. “What‘s there to talk about?”
Gloria‘s lips curved up. “You won‘t know how my proposal is without talking to me. Why don‘t you take
a look? You can turn away at any time.”
With that, she opened the folder and handed it to Kristina.
Kristina laid her eyes on the content. After she read a few lines, her face turned serious, and she took
the folder.
As Gloria raised her eyes, Kristina walked to the opposite seat, sat down, and pored over the proposal
Gloria observed the expressions of the woman. Her eyes swiveled when Kristina put her sunglasses
down on the table.
It was Kristina‘s habit to wear sunglasses all the time. It was her signature. Unbeknownst to a lot of
people, she would take off her sunglasses only when something piqued her interest or caught her
attention.
Instead of rushing to speak, Gloria remained quiet.
About 20 minutes later, Kristina put the folder down.
Composure as ever, she said, “The proposal is not bad, but there is a problem with the division of
interests.”
Gloria nodded and asked, “Does it mean your approval?”
Kristina nodded and replied, “Yeah.”
Gloria asked again, “What‘s your opinion about the division of interests?”
Kristina pondered for a moment and replied, “3:7.”
She meant that 30% of the interests would go to Gloria‘s side off the table. You know how to find me,
but don‘t come unless you concede.”
With that, she picked up her sunglasses.
Her resolution was plain to see.
Instead of stopping her, Gloria just said with a smile, “Given what I‘ve heard about you, I know that
you‘re not bluffing, but you‘re advised to give it a second thought. 50:50 is my final offer. If you don‘t
agree, I’ll have to find another partner. You know, 50% of the interest is a lot of money.”
Kristina took an indifferent look at her and said, “Whatever.”
With that, the woman put on her sunglasses and turned to leave.
Gloria‘s lips curved up. When Kristina just took one step, she said in a casual tone, “Theard that your
son has been stalked lately.”
Kristina halted and darted a penetrating look at Gloria. “Miss White, is this a threat?”
