She Ruined His Mood
The Collins Group.
Jordy was in no mood to deal with work.
His handsome face was taut. Later, he got up from his seat, walked to the window, and looked out.
He was on the top floor. Looking down, he could only see the sky and clouds outside.
It was a beautiful day, and the air was fresh. Jordy opened the window to let the cold wind in so that he
gradually calmed down.
Jordy stood by the window for what seemed an eternity, staring into the distance as if he could see
something afar.
Five days passed.
Everything seemed okay.
Claude and his family were having dinner.
Nothing happened in the past few days, and they seemed less tense.
Claude had a drink today.
Claude took a mouthful of liquor and grinned. He then took another bite of food and said, “As we
expected, she was just bluffing.”
Angela frowned at her father’s triumphant smile. “You look so happy when she’s running out of options.
Have you ever thought about your position? You’re no longer the chairman. The staff bowed to you
respectfully, but now? They look down upon you.”
Claude’s face fell as he scowled at Angela. “I know, but it’s good news that Gloria hasn’t pushed us
back any further. Give me a break, please!”
Claude used to indulge Angela even though she was self–willed sometimes, but now…
He felt more uncertain about her growing fickleness. She was acting weird.
Angela put down her knife and fork. She was not in the mood to eat.
Martha’s hand froze on her knife and fork. She lost her appetite. She looked at Angela and sighed
helplessly, “Eat your food. What do you think you’re doing?”
Angela pursed her lips annoyedly and couldn’t help grumbling.
“In the past, when they saw me, they called me Miss White and greeted me with respect. But now I feel
something has changed though they do the same. I get some strange looks. I hear them talk behind my
back!”
Tears welled up in Angela’s eyes as she spoke. She looked up, trying to hold back her tears.
“You…”
Martha sighed helplessly and slowly put down her knife and fork. “I know you feel so bad. We don’t
want this, but we can’t give in. We’ll get back to the old days.”
Claude’s mood was ruined. He took a sip of liquor just now, but now he lost his appetite.
After a pause, Claude looked at Angela and said in a grave voice, “We can only play it by ear. You feel
bad, and so do I. All the staff side with Gloria.”
“Do we just let it go? I can’t accept it!”
Claude immediately said, “Me either. We can’t let go like this! Don’t forget, the person behind you is
going against Gloria. When she gets Gloria killed, we can get our place back.“
