How Could I Go On
Seeing that Gloria was with composure, she didn‘t dare to show too hatred toward her. She could only
answer with embarrassment, “I‘m sorry, what Gloria gave me the document at that time, she didn‘t
explain so much to me. So I didn‘t know the specific details of the plan back then.”
Just when Angela wanted to continue to shake off responsibility, Ted laughed and said, “You mean
Gloria didn‘t tell you? Or that you didn‘t want her to continue explaining to you?”
Everyone looked at Angela with increasingly complicated doubts.
Angela‘s expressions changed slightly.
A sardonic look flashed across Gloria‘s face. Is Gloria plotting against me and putting on that innocent
look?
But pretending to be innocent is not a difficult thing to do.
I guess it‘s not easy to be a sincere person, but it‘s totally easy to play tricks and become wicked for
her.
Before Angela could figure out her response, Gloria said with guilt, “I wouldn‘t blame my cousin for this.
I didn’t expect to explain these things to my cousin because I didn‘t have enough experience at that
time. Yesterday, Mr. Maguire asked me to explain the plan in detail, and that was when I realized this.”
Angela was so irritated.
What a wicked woman!
Since when did she start to play tricks on others?
Gloria‘s words sounded as if making an excuse for Angela, but the participants in the room knew
enough about what might possibly happen between the two.
They might start to blame Angela after hearing Gloria‘s words when she said she was inexperienced.
So Gloria managed to shake off responsibility and to blame Angela for being inexperienced as well.
Gloria didn‘t explain the plan, but it was Angela‘s responsibility to ask her to explain. But Angela didn‘t
ask. Instead, she directly vetoed Gloria‘s plan, which proved that Angela was very arbitrary.
Seeing the people‘s doubtful and questioning looks, Angela was so enraged. She quickly shook her
head and said, “My idea at that time was actually the same as what I have now. It was not that I didn‘t
trust Gloria. If this plan would bring no harm to the company, I‘m naturally willing to approve of it.
Because Gloria is my cousin, and I do hope she can have built her own future with this plan. But to be
honest, the plan involves too many complicated things.”
The crowd looked at Gloria and didn‘t say anything, obviously waiting for her to continue.
Angela took a breath, restrained her emotions and continued, “If the plan was carried out and
succeeded, of course everyone will be happy to see this. But if it fails, I‘m afraid it will affect the
interests of the company. This is a huge issue that everyone knows that Mr. Brown will invest. But if
Gloria didn‘t conduct it well, all the investment would be in vain and could not be recovered.”
Seeing that people were listening to her carefully, she became calmer than just now. “Although it was
not our company‘s money that would lose if the Brown Group suffered tremendous damage, everyone
would know that the White Group made an awful plan. Then, who will cooperate with us again in the
future? They were afraid of falling over if they worked with us, and then… the reputation of our
company would be doomed.”
Speaking of this, Angela couldn‘t help sighing. She acted as if she was worrying about her cousin and
the company with sincerity. She said, “Of course, there is Gloria‘s reputation. How could she stay in the
company in the future if she fails?”
The crowd listened to her words quite still and sound.
Another shareholder sitting next to Ted looked aloof at Angela and said, “Miss White is right, but why
don‘t you choose to make it public since this is a huge issue? Why did you decide to keep it private but
cancel the plan according to your own opinions?”
Angela‘s shivered slightly, and she wanted to refute, but Yvonne continued quickly, “You were worried
about your cousin, but you should put the interests of the company in the first place. That you can‘t
trust Gloria and that you think everyone may not agree to let Gloria take up the plan could be made
public to all of us. And we can work together.”
Angela remained silent.
She was so outrageous.
But Yvonne took a step further and questioned again, “But why did you choose to suppress this plan? If
it wasn‘t for Mr. Maguire, how could we know that Gloria would have such a good plan with such great
benefits to come?”
