Chapter 1216Chapter 1216 Hugo Screws Up
Upon hearing Sloan's words, Herald's face began to turn ashen.
This was really a case of getting what he had asked for.
He thought he was sabotaging Sloan, yet he ended up implicating himself after all that effort.
D*mn it!
He had never been as furious as he was now.
What on earth was Hugo thinking? That fool! Why would he sell the Panda Adieu Trojan horse virus to
Sloan? Perhaps Lucas might think that I, as his older brother, am the one who has been giving Hugo
ideas!
Black spots appeared in Herald's vision; he was on the verge of passing out.
You're such a burden! This is exactly what you call a useless teammate!
The colleagues from the Ministry of Justice had already detained the collapsed Sloan. They addressed
Herald in an official manner, “This matter is of a severe nature. As for Mr. Hugo's involvement, we
request Mr. Cook to handle this impartially as well. We'll be taking Mr. Guzman and Mr. Lacey with us
now.”
Sloan and Yosef maliciously planted Trojan horse viruses in the computers in Section Six. This wasdone despite the fact that the targeted party was their own new energy provider. This severely
damaged their own interests in the new energy sector and also ruined their relationship with Lucas.
Punishing him and Yosef was only natural.
If Hugo knew what Sloan was going to do with the Trojan horse virus and still decided to sell it to him,
then Hugo was complicit in the crime.
Even if he didn't know what Sloan was planning to do with the Trojan horse virus, he would still likely
face some sort of punishment.
Herald was shaking with anger, his face ashen. He said to Lucas, “Mr. Nolan, I assure you. I will
resolve this matter perfectly.”
“Well then, I'll be waiting for the good news from Mr. Cook.” Lucas stood up, his tall figure instantly
making the office feel a bit cramped.
The man turned and strode away on his long legs, which were encased in tailored suit trousers.

After saying that, he immediately followed in Lucas' footsteps.
The color drained from Herald's face. But he dared not say anything other than wishing them a safe trip
home.
In the office, only Herald and the assistant remained. He slumped into his office chair, utterlyexhausted. His back was already drenched in cold sweat.
Hugo, d*mn it!
At the Cook residence, Hugo had been up all night, working with a few colleagues on a new program
until the break of dawn.
He slept until past two in the afternoon before he woke up. With his hair disheveled and face
unwashed, he emerged from his room and went downstairs. He said to the servant, “Make me
something to eat. I'm starving.”
Just as he was about to turn around and head back upstairs for a nap, Herald suddenly stormed into
the living room, glaring at him with a menacing look.
It instantly jolted Hugo awake. He looked at Herald in confusion and asked, “Herald, why are you
looking at me like that? Your expression is kind of scary!”
Herald wore a stern expression, looking authoritatively at Hugo. “Tell me,” he demanded, “what was
your deal with Sloan? What exactly have you done?”
Hugo looked somewhat taken aback, pausing for a moment before saying, “I didn't do anything. He just
wanted a powerful Trojan horse virus, so I gave him one. What's the matter?”
Herald's voice was cold and stern as he scolded Hugo, “Do you think the Cook family's situation isn't
chaotic enough? Why are you associating with him? Do you have any idea what he did with that Trojan
horse virus?” Hugo's mind was completely blank. His usually muddled brain became even more befuddled.
“What can he do? Did he kill someone?”
Upon hearing the quarrel between the two brothers, Martha hurried out of her room. Seeing Herald's
uncontrollable anger, she felt a pang of sympathy for her younger grandson. “Herald, what's the
matter? You started scolding your brother as soon as you walked in. Your brother was working through
the night!”
“Grandma, you must stop defending him all the time. It's your constant protection that has led him to
cause such a disaster!” Herald became irritated as soon as he heard Martha taking Hugo's side.
“What kind of disaster? He spends his days either at work or at home, always in front of a computer.
What kind of trouble could he possibly get into?” Despite everything, Martha still had a soft spot for
Hugo.
