Chapter 1254Chapter 1254 Detailed And Compelling Evidence

“Why are you taking the emergency staircase when there's an elevator?”

Spencer swallowed hard and wiped the sweat off his forehead. “Uh... I was thinking of getting some

exercise.”

His reason was a little far-fetched.

While Ashlyn was doubtful, she did not dwell on it too much.

Th€ connection to th€ §ource of thïš dat@ r€§t$ in n0v3lebookAs the two entered the room together, they met with Lucas' somewhat peculiar gaze.

The man's usually icy gaze had a trace of inexplicable craze and determination, almost as if he was

suppressing something...

He looks like a hungry wolf who has spotted a little lamb... And that pitiful little lamb is none other than

me... Wait. Me? The lamb? Why would I think of such a terrifying analogy? I'm always meant to be the

goddess! Something's not quite right. Spencer is acting abnormally, and so is Lucas.

Ashlyn walked further in and glanced at Joseph. “You've lost weight recently too, haven't you?”

What's wrong with Charlotte and him?

For some reason, she felt an inexplicable worry as an elder.

Joseph smiled. “Like Lottie, I'm also having trouble adjusting to the new environment.” In truth, he had been plagued by worries for James and could not eat or sleep well lately.

There was no way he could be in a good condition.

“That's enough. Just say it if you're concerned about James. There's no need to come up with

excuses.” Ashlyn walked to the desk, grabbed the documents, and casually slipped through them. “This

isn't sufficient.”

As she spoke, she handed Lucas the document Chester had given her. “I also have some evidence

here. Take a look.”

Lucas arched an eyebrow. A faint glimmer flashed in his gaze as he curled his thin lips. “Chester gave

you this?”

She asked to wait for someone, and shortly after, Chester arrived.

Ashlyn did not know how to explain. It was also beyond her imagination that Lone Breeze was a

famous celebrity, moreover, one that almost the whole world knew.

Following a brief silence, she explained, “My friend knows him and asked him to help deliver some

documents.”

The fact that she could have a celebrity humble himself to deliver documents showed that her so-called

friend was of an extraordinary status as well. Then again, it was not the time for her to explain this.

Lucas accepted the document and began flipping through it.

Joseph, however, was getting distracted. Chester Elsher? Could it be that he's that famous actor?

Regardless, he did not think it was appropriate to voice his doubts since Lucas and Ashlyn did not

seem interested in discussing it.

After looking through the contents, Lucas grew increasingly solemn.

Where did she get such detailed and compelling evidence? And where did her friend get it from? How

did she secure such information when even Section Six couldn't?

Joseph also leaned over to look. When he saw the contents, he was completely stumped.

He understood, even though he had never studied law.

“This evidence...”

That's plenty!

His eyes turned slightly teary. “Aunt Ashlyn, thank you...”

Ashlyn looked up at him. She realized Joseph was no longer repulsed about greeting her that way at

some point. Since he addresses me as Aunt Ashlyn, I can't stand by and watch the Field family fall from grace.

Neither can I watch James being framed by the rogues!

She also thought of Fae, who was far away in Lake City. Mrs. Field still makes the chicken soup that

my mom taught her even though she has lost her memories. I guess some relationships will never

change or fade because of time and space.

“Don't mention it. We're a family,” Ashlyn responded plainly.

A glint of light flitted across her beautiful eyes.

Lucas flipped through the document swiftly. After he finished skimming through, he looked up at

Ashlyn, and this time, his gaze filled with burning eagerness.

“Has the court date been set?”

Joseph nodded. “The day after tomorrow at ten in the morning.”

“Okay.”

Lucas suppressed the anticipation within him. With the evidence Ashlyn provided, I'm sure we'll yield

twice the result with half the effort.

The group then ordered room service and had a meal together before they dispersed.

Ashlyn and Lucas returned to their room. She pushed the door opened, but had yet stepped in.

Suddenly, Lucas reached out with his long arm and dragged her in. Before she could react, the man

pinned her against the wall and condescendingly looked down at her.
