Chapter 1219Chapter 1219 Arrest
“How can you barge in like that! Oh dear!”
With a thud, it seemed as if the butler had fallen.
Herald couldn't help but walk toward the outside. As soon as he reached the entrance of the hall, he
saw the butler sitting in a disheveled state in the courtyard. He quickly walked over and helped the
butler up, “Kurt, are you all right?”

Herald glared angrily at the police who had barged in. “What do you think you're doing?”
“Mr. Cook, I apologize for the inconvenience, but this is an arrest warrant.” The leading police captain
presented an arrest warrant directly. “Mr. Hugo is suspected of damaging computer information
systems. We would like him to come with us.”
Hugo never expected the police to show up. His face turned ashen with fear. In a panic, he hid behind
Herald. “Herald, I don't want to go to jail. Herald, please save me!”
Regardless of how angry and anxious Martha was at that moment, she had no choice but to take care
of her grandson first.
“Captain Lidell, Hugo is just a child. He doesn't understand the gravity of the situation. He didn't mean
any harm. He also didn't know what Sloan was planning to do with the Trojan horse virus. Could youplease show some leniency? Considering all the contributions our Cook family has made, could you
spare Hugo?”
“Old Mrs. Cook, everyone is equal when judged by the law. It was his mistake to sell the Trojan horse
virus to Sloan,” Amos said with a stern face, not showing Martha any leniency.
Herald hadn't expected Amos to be so tough. He took a deep breath, trying to stay relatively calm.
“Captain Lidell, we usually get along pretty well. Hugo did make a mistake, but does it really warrant an
arrest?”
“Mr. Cook, please don't take it personally. This matter can't be considered major or minor, but the Lacey
and Guzman families have all been apprehended, leaving only him. It's hard to convince the public like
this, isn't it?” Amos said with a sneer.
At that moment, Pauline hurriedly pulled out a bank card from her bag and shamelessly handed it to
Amos. “Captain Lidell, considering the good relations between our two families, please let Hugo go.
He's young and naive. I'll scold him more in the future.”
Amos directly pushed her hand away, looking at her with a half smile. “Young and naive? Is this a
matter of being young or being naive? This is clearly a matter of breaking the law! Besides, he's
already an adult. Is an adult still a child? Can he still be naive? That would make him a giant baby,
wouldn't it?”
Upon hearing Amos' words, filled with mockery, Pauline nearly fainted, her eyes rolling back in her
head.
Normally, she was the respected lady of the Cook family, and no one had ever ridiculed her like this. She was, after all, the cream of the crop among all the noble ladies.
However, the police didn't give them any more opportunity to waste words. He signaled to his
subordinates behind him to arrest Hugo.
Hugo couldn't help but struggle, “Herald! Herald, save me. Save me!”
However, no matter how much he struggled, it was the police who were apprehending him. His
resistance was futile.
In just a couple of moments, several police officers had apprehended him, even going so far as to put
him in handcuffs.
Martha watched with an aching heart as her most beloved grandson was taken away by the police. She
was on the verge of fainting, Her emotions running high as she cried out, “On what grounds are you
arresting him? I'm telling you. The Cook family is not to be trifled with. If you want to take him away,
you'll have to step over my body first.”
She hobbled up to a few police officers with her cane, displaying an attitude of defiance as if she had
nothing left to lose.
Amos found it amusing. “Old Mrs. Cook, I didn't order the arrest. It was the president's command. The
seal on this arrest warrant was also stamped by the Chief. I'm just the one carrying out the orders. So,
if you have anything to say, you can take it up with the president.”
President...Upon hearing that the order came from the president, almost everyone in the Cook family
turned deathly pale. They all stared at Amos in stunned disbelief.
After he finished speaking, Amos coldly ordered, “Take him away!”
And so, before members of the Cook family could even react, Herald was taken away.
